What will I do as County Clerk?

  • Continue to modernize the County Clerk's office to provide for more documents and tasks to be available online - making it easier for the public to file and receive their documents online, rather than needing to visit a physical office.

  • Remove COVID barriers and screening to make the office more accessible and comfortable for the public.

  • Create a social media presence to help guide the public through how they perform various tasks at the County Clerk's office - this will reduce the frustration of the public in knowing how to file and understanding what can and cannot be done on a modernized County Clerk website.

  • Streamline office operations and eliminate redundancies of work.

  • Look for best practices and review what is working in similarly-sized counties.

What does the County Clerk do?

  • Serves as the main custodian of records for the Commissioner's Court and County Courts at Law

  • Acts as the recorder and custodian of important public records, including all bonds, deeds, birth and death certificates, assumed names and livestock brands, and ensures that the records are maintained in a secure, archival manner.

  • Issues marriage licenses.

  • Supervises collections for the local and district courts.

Why do I want to run for County Clerk?

  • County Clerk is a work position, it requires someone who is highly organized and has experience working with and around the government bureaucracy, has a great knowledge and experience of supervising dozens of employees and a multi-million dollar budget, and who will provide even better customer service and create new efficiencies in the County Clerk's office.

  • With my 27 years of public service and work as a state agency department head and CFO, I have the human resources skills and budgetary understanding to root out waste, fraud, and abuse that will save the taxpayers money.

  • I am the only candidate with a lifetime of public service. Since 1994, I have served the people of Texas by supporting our Members of Congress in the US House of Representatives, our Texas Governor, and our state's largest airport system.

  • I am a proud 6th generation Texan and Conroe High School graduate, who believes in preserving and spreading my Christian conservative values at home, at work, and in our community.
